Maglev is no longer mysterious
Shanghai Maglev special line is the world's first maglev commercial line jointly developed by China and Germany. The first shovel was dug in Pudong on March 1, 2001, and the whole line was put into trial operation on December 31, 2002. The commercial operation was officially started on January 4, 2003. It has been 15 years since then.
Magnetic bearing has the characteristics of no mechanical contact, no lubrication, high speed, high precision, low power consumption and intelligent control. Because of the above characteristics, magnetic bearings are widely used in many fields. As early as the 20th century, the United States, Japan, France, Germany and other countries have applied magnetic bearings to large-scale equipment such as centrifugal compressors, molecular vortex pumps and turbine engines. They have also been applied to magnetic bearing spindles for ultra high speed and ultra precision machining machines, and have also been successfully applied in military equipment.
As a typical mechatronics product, the research of magnetic bearing involves the knowledge of mechanics, rotor dynamics, electromagnetism, control theory, sensing theory and computer science, and has a wide application prospect. At present, magnetic bearings are mainly used in high value-added products with high speed, high precision, automation, low speed and heavy load, or vacuum clean and static environment.
