(1) The type of contactor is selected according to the type of power supply used by the control object. Generally, the AC contactor is used for AC load and the DC contactor is used for DC load. When the DC load capacity is small, the AC contactor can also be selected, but the rated current of the AC contactor should be larger.

(2) The rated voltage of the main contact of the selected contactor shall be greater than or equal to the rated voltage of the control line.

(3) The rated current of the main contact of the contactor shall be reasonably selected according to the type of the control object and the use situation.

When controlling the resistive load, the rated current of the main contact shall be equal to the rated current of the load. When controlling the motor, the rated current of the main contact shall be greater than or slightly greater than the rated current of the motor. When the contactor is used in the occasions of frequent starting, braking and forward and reverse rotation, the rated current of the main contact shall be reduced by one level.

(4) Select the voltage of the contactor coil.

When the control circuit is simple and few electrical appliances are used, the voltage of 380V or 220V shall be selected according to the power level. When the line is complex, from the perspective of personal and equipment safety, 36V or 110V line diagram can be selected, and corresponding transformer equipment shall be added.

(5) According to the requirements of the control circuit, the number and type of contacts of the contactor shall be reasonably selected.
